Gym battles are your path to becoming a Pokemon Champion! Here's everything you need to know.

ACCESSING GYMS
Open the dock menu and go to Battle > Gyms to see all available gym leaders.

GYM STRUCTURE
Each region has 8 Gym Leaders, followed by the Elite Four and Champion:
- 8 Gym Leaders (earn badges)
- Elite Four (4 tough battles in a row)
- Champion (final boss of the region)

HOW GYM BATTLES WORK
1. Select a Gym Leader to challenge
2. The battle begins with your lead Pokemon vs their lead
3. Gym Leaders have full teams of 3-6 Pokemon
4. You must defeat ALL their Pokemon to win
5. If all your Pokemon faint, you lose

EARNING BADGES
- Defeat a Gym Leader to earn their badge
- Badges are permanent and tracked in your profile
- Collect all 8 badges to unlock the Elite Four
- Beat the Elite Four and Champion to complete the region!

COOLDOWN SYSTEM
After battling a gym (win or lose), there's a cooldown before you can challenge the same leader again. Use this time to train and prepare!

STRATEGY TIPS
1. Check the Gym Leader's type specialty before battling
2. Build a team with type advantages against their Pokemon
3. Level up your Pokemon to match or exceed the Gym Leader's levels
4. Bring healing items (Potions) to use during battle
5. If you lose, grind more XP against wild Pokemon and try again

- Water beats Fire, Ground, Rock
- Fire beats Grass, Ice, Bug, Steel
- Grass beats Water, Ground, Rock
- Electric beats Water, Flying
- Ice beats Dragon, Flying, Grass, Ground
- Fighting beats Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark, Steel
- Psychic beats Fighting, Poison
- Dark beats Psychic, Ghost
- Fairy beats Dragon, Dark, Fighting
- Dragon beats Dragon
- Ground beats Electric, Fire, Poison, Rock, Steel
